GOLF COURSE

The Montgomerie - Colin Montgomerie & Desmond Muirhead – Managed by Troon Golf
18 holes par 72
Distance: 7369 yards
Established: 2002

The Club's championship golf course is a links-land style oasis. The course covers 265 acres, which consist of 123 acres of turf, 14 lakes, 93 acres of landscaped gardens and 81 large bunkers. The course provides the player with undulating "links land" style fairways with generous landing areas which challenge and intrigue all levels of player. Although large in size, the greens can be very misleading, especially as they are consistently rolling above 9.5feet. Plenty of shape throughout the greens can result in some very trying putts.

One of the signature holes is the par 5 fourth, dubbed the Snake hole for its saddleback fairway which doglegs towards the green, with two bunkers behind forming the eyes of the snake.

The par 3 thirteenth, a hole designed in the shape of the UAE, boasts a 360 degree teeing area around an island fairway and green, allowing for a completely different golf hole to be played every time.

Emirates Golf Club – Faldo Course – Nick Faldo

18 holes par 72
Distance: 7052 yards
Established: 1996
Emirates Golf club’s second Championship course, which opened in 1996 was named “The Wadi” taken from the Arabic word for Valley. Redesigned in 2005 by golf legend and six time major winner Nick Faldo, the course now combines a stunning visual design with nuances and challenges of any championship course in just the right measure, providing visitors an exceptionally enjoyable golfing experience.

The new course was re-named “The Faldo” when it reopened in October 2006.

A natural wadi running the length of the course comes in play without being classified as a hazard, and along with Faldo’s trade mark tees and bunkers are combined with the naturally rugged terrain to create a unique golfing experience
