GOLF COURSE

The Montgomerie - Colin Montgomerie & Desmond Muirhead – Managed by Troon Golf

18 holes par 72
Distance: 7369 yards
Established: 2002

The Club's championship golf course is a links-land style oasis. The course covers 265 acres, which consist of 123 acres of turf, 14 lakes, 93 acres of landscaped gardens and 81 large bunkers. The course provides the player with undulating "links land" style fairways with generous landing areas which challenge and intrigue all levels of player. Although large in size, the greens can be very misleading, especially as they are consistently rolling above 9.5feet. Plenty of shape throughout the greens can result in some very trying putts.
One of the signature holes is the par 5 fourth, dubbed the Snake hole for its saddleback fairway which doglegs towards the green, with two bunkers behind forming the eyes of the snake.
The par 3 thirteenth, a hole designed in the shape of the UAE, boasts a 360 degree teeing area around an island fairway and green, allowing for a completely different golf hole to be played every time.

The Els Club Dubai

18 holes par 72
Distance: 7538 yards
Established: 2008

Drawing inspiration from Ernie Els' lifelong love of links golf, we set about recreating at The Els Club, Dubai some of these design features into a desert landscape. We call it a 'desert links,' featuring undulations and strong elevation changes for visual and strategic interest. Extensive use of dunes, sandy waste areas and native grasses and vegetation between wide fairways, along with a classic style of bunkering, add to the links effect.

The greenside protection system consists of sculpted bunkers, grassy swales and imaginatively designed greens featuring fine-textured Bermuda grass that are conducive to smooth, fast putting surfaces all year round.
