Muthaiga Golf Club – Peter Matkovich Design

18 holes, Par 71
Altitude: 1,710 metres
Opened (new course): 2004
Distance (championship): 7,169 yards
Opened (original course): 1913

Proudly called the ‘Home of Golf’ by its elite membership, is in many ways the ultimate embodiment of Kenya’s unique marriage of ancient golf tradition and a modern 18-hole championship golf course.
The new course returned Muthaiga to prominence as the finest course with the fastest greens in East Africa.
The Kenya Open, which is part of the Africa leg of the European PGA Challenge Tour, is hosted at Muthaiga Golf Club every year.

Karen Country Club - Jean Remy Martin design

18 holes, par 72.
Altitude: 1,830 metres.
Opened: 1937.
Distance (championship): 6,924 yards (men’s) 6,662 yards (ladies’): 5,707 yards.

This stunning course occupies a special place in the heart of historic Kenya-on the site of Karen Blixen’s famous coffee estate.
Lush indigenous forests, pools and wetlands bursting with birdlife, butterflies, sprays of flowers, and luminescent bougainvillea are common features.
A short par 3 over a fountain and pond will test and reward the deft, while the par 4s range from 300 to 450 metres, and all par 5s top 500 metres.

Limuru Country Club – Mr. J.A. Kinnell & Major W.D.Bacon design

18 holes, par 71
Altitude: 2,135 metres
Opened: February 1952
Distance (men’s): 6,739 yards
Distance (ladies’): 5,582 yards 71

Nestled in the foothills of the Escarpment, the course is spread out over 200 acres of broad, sweeping fairways interwoven with magnificent indigenous Africa trees and alive with the calls and iridescent colours of thousands of beautiful birds. The signature par-5 3rd hole enjoys stunning views over the luminous tea plantations as it descends to an immaculate green, bordered by a shimmering dam and rock gardens aglow with exotic flowers.

Royal Nairobi Golf Club

18 holes, par 72
Opened: 1906
Distance (men’s): 7021 yards
Distance (ladies’): 5756 yards

The front nine is relatively flat, while the back nine have the characteristic of a rolling hillside. The course is very well maintained, while the hallmarks of Royal Nairobi Golf Course are the tees and the greens. Without exception these are the largest tees found in Kenya and are tiered for the various players i.e. Championship, Medal and Ladies tees.

Flowering bushes, bougainvillea and a huge variety of tree species lend colour and aesthetic appeal to the course.

Sigona Golf Club - Tom Simpson design

18 holes, par 72
Altitude: 1,980 metres
Opened: 1938
Distance (men’s): 6,890 yards
Distance (ladies’): 5,631 yards
Course rating (SSS): Men-72, Ladies-71

Sigona’s hilly Kikuyu-grass fairways are widely regarded as among the lushest, most beautiful, and most challenging in Africa. Sigona’s original course was routed around an elephants’ watering hole – the reason for the elephant’s head on its striking club logo. The yellow-flowering wattles, podos, moringas, cape chestnuts and pines all form the beautiful environment.

Nyali Golf & Country Club

18 holes, par 71
Opened: 1958
Distance (championship): 6,715 Yards
Distance (men’s): 6,510 yards
Distance (ladies’): 5,431 yards

Designed by Monty Lowry, this challenging championship course offers testing short rough and numerous doglegs, providing a multitude of individual challenges for the seasoned golfer.

The closely mown, well-watered fairways are comprised of a mixture of Mozambique Polana and Pemba grasses, while the lush, finely contoured greens are laid with Polana.

This is a traditional African coastal course, lined with flowering trees with impeccably maintained fairways and some of the fastest greens in Kenya.
