At the appointed time, you will drive in a 4WD
vehicle towards Rift Valley Region. Play golf in the afternoon
at Rift Valley Golf Club. Overnight at Great Rift Valley Lodge.
RIFT VALLEY
The Rift Valley is
the greatest valley in the world, a continental fault system that
stretches from the Dead Sea all the way to Mozambique. In Kenya it passes from Lake Turkana in the north
to Lake Magadi in the south. In between there are a series
of lakes e.g. Baringo, Bogoria, Nakuru, Elementeita and Naivasha.
Lake Bogoria, Nakuru and Elementeita boast millions of flamingoes,
which is a spectacular sight. Volcanic activities left their mark
in the Rift Valley and can be found in form of half submerged islands,
giant calderas and the distinctive cone shapes which dot the landscape
as well as dormant volcanoes. The Rift Valley evokes
a sense of immense mystery and the power of time.
RIFT VALLEY LODGE & GOLF RESORT
Just
an hour and a half from Nairobi, lies the Rift Valley Lodge and
Golf Resort, the latest addition in the Rift Valley. The lodge
has 30 beautiful split-level rooms, stylishly blending ancient
African design with the finest modern furnishings; the rooms
offer new heights of luxury on the edge of Kenya’s Great
Rift Valley. From a waterhole where buffalo and the graceful
antelope gather regularly, to the shimmering waters of Lake Naivasha
and, beyond, the sweeping crater-studded floor of the world’s
largest valley. The main clubhouse offers one of Africa’s
most beautiful dining experiences, with superb Mediterranean
cuisine served on a balcony with the same huge, elemental views.
RIFT
VALLEY GOLF CLUB *****
5940 yards – par 72 – 18
holes
Very
popular over the weekends among the local golfers, the course
has spectacular settings and a challenging character. The
first player to break the 71 par here, the Irish professional
David Jones, described it as the best young course he had ever
played on.
DAY
3
Play Golf at Rift
valley Golf Club. Overnight at Great Rift Valley Lodge.
DAY 4
At the appointed time,
you will drive towards Mount Kenya region. Afternoon gamedrive.
Overnight at Sweetwaters Tented Camp.
MOUNT KENYA & THE
ABERDARES REGION
These two neighbouring
areas are in the Central Highlands of Kenya and have an amazing
geography of contrast. The deep green of cultivated farmland
gives way to the purple-gray scrub grass of high ranches where
cattle, sheep and plains game graze. The mountain
ranges are covered with forests with hidden trout streams. In
the centre is the Mt. Kenya (5189m) - among the world's largest
freestanding volcanic mountains. The equator crosses
the northern slopes of the Mt. Kenya at 3350 meters. At
the equator slight variations of altitude create enormous changes
in both climate and landscape causing diverse weather changes. You
can pass from the cool misty forest of the Aberdares to the dry
Laikipia Plateau scenery offers different choices to the traveler
in terms of places to stay and activities. 185 kms to the
Aberdares and 250 kms to Mount Kenya from Nairobi.
SWEET WATERS TENTED
CAMP
Sweetwaters Tented Camp lies in the heart of 24,000-acre
Sweetwaters Game Reserve, with magnificent views across the plains
to the snow capped peaks of Mount Kenya. The 30 luxury tents overlook
the waterhole, floodlit by night, providing excellent and secluded
rarely seen game viewing. This game sanctuary is the closest reserve to
Nairobi (2.5 hours drive) home to all the big five game, and has
the highest ratio of game-to-area of any park or reserve in Kenya.
At Sweetwaters, there is plenty to do.Game drives at Sweetwaters are indeed a pleasure.
Game viewing may also take the form of game walks accompanied by
our Resident Naturalist, and game rides on horseback. Camel riding,
night game drives and “bush” lunches or dinners are
a delight. The Chimpanzee Sanctuary & Information Centre, Morani
the tame black rhino and the Visitor’s Information Centre
are most informative and entertaining and should all be visited
while in the Game Reserve.
DAY 5
At the appointed time,
you will drive back to Nairobi. Overnight at Safari Park Hotel.
SAFARI PARK HOTEL*****

of its course by course architect is Peter Markovich, who also
designed the Arabella Golf Club in South Africa. That course has

flowering trees and bushes, Karen Country Club is a must play.
It is certainly one of the top 18-hole championship courses in
the country. The course is next to the house of Karen Blixen

course to play. You will most likely think back on your round

Sigona
Golf Club has a fine reputation for having some of the most beautiful
fairways in Kenya. Sitting near the Rift Valley at an altitude

rainfall. The Kikuyu grass keeps the course looking lush and
verdant year round. The green keeper tells: ''any player can
use almost any golf club, from his driver to his sand wedge,
off these fairways''. The course is very hilly and most of the
eighteen tees are elevated. It is one course that will definitely
test your golf skills along with your physical conditioning. Sigona
provides tough but very pleasant 18
holes of golf.
LIMURU
COUNTRY CLUB *****
6598
yards - par 71 - 18 holes
